People are under the impression that if they are employed then all their taxes are paid and hence they do not need to submit tax returns at all.
But it is a requirement to declare any other income you have received apart from the employment income. Examples are given below
1. Rental income from any property
2. Sale of properties during the year, apart from the principal residence
3. Bank interest received without any tax deduction
etc.
Even though tax returns are not sent by the tax office automatically, it is our duty to notify the tax office if you believe that you are going to be in receipt of untaxed income during the year.
With the case of rental income, there might not be any tax payable (we can assist you in that) but you will have problem when selling it.
