I've been to Space a fair few times and have gained a very mixed impression. Some nights were absolutely fantastic and some, truly dire. I think this is because the thugs arrive at the weekend, and you really can't let your hair down and have a dance for fear of being punched, and during the week (thursdays in particular) the friendly students come to party. I may be biased being a student, but to be honest they're alot better company as they want to have a good night and a good boogie - unlike chavs. So, if you go to Space be aware of what day you are going on as the whole night will depend on it. There are I think 3 rooms of music, one of them is terrible but the other two are good. I agree with the previous comment that when drunk it is very easy to get lost as the place is like a maze.Drinks and entry are fairly expensive, but this is the norm in Leeds.

  • 1 Awful!

Having been to The Space a far share of times I have come to hate it. During the week it's ok because it is full of students. On the weekend it is awful you constantly find yourself looking over your shoulder and just waiting for the trouble to kick off.As well as this if you are a bit on the drunk side you will constantly become disorientated and confused on your way to the toilets because the corridors are lined with mirrors so you don't have a clue where you are.The drinks are well over priced and the music in one room is terrible one ok thing though is the music in the second room when if you get over how bad everything else is you can have a ok time.

  • 3 Good venue for midweek/sunday

I would preface this review by noting my one major concern with this club. This is the volume levels. At every other club, fair enough the music is loud, but your ears don't ring at the end of the night. This is the case with Space, which could be to do with the small size of the place as mentioned by the other reviewer.I myself have never been on a weekend night, but weekdays are a good alternative from the usual student/indie scene with a mixture of funky and electro house. Entry is around a fiver and there are usually cheap drinks on offer.
