• Regentl Hotel, Oban

  My elderly Mother and I stayed at this hotel in 2003 and we were given a twin room at the back with a dingey grey wall three feet away as the view, we were unable to see any sky, the kitchen extractor was ajacent to the room and we had the constant smell of cooking day and night, also the noise from the kitchen fans, it was unbearable. The staff were completely disinterested as were Wallace Arnold staff when I complained to them.The room itself was grubby and unwelcoming. we were not able to change, they said they were full.Ours was not the only room in this condition, others nearby were of the same poor standard.Avoid this hotel if possible. Wallace Arnold did send me a cheque for £25 as compensation, but I returned it as the holiday was already ruined. I didn't want any compensation, just an apology, and something done about this hotel.
